Flo Rida Songs
Collectively, Flo Rida has sold well over 20 million digital downloads of his songs. Many of his songs are notable for featured appearances by other artists and cleverly chosen samples from other recordings. This is a guide to his best and biggest hits.
'Low' was the debut single from rapper Flo Rida featuring songwriting and featured vocals from T-Pain. The combination of rapping, a huge bass line, and pop melodies helped it become one of the biggest pop hit singles of all time. 'Low' spent 10 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and 13 weeks at the top of the digital single sales chart. Ultimately the song sold more than five million copies and for a time was the biggest selling digital single ever.
A wide range of familiar brand names are mentioned in the lyrics of 'Low.' One that may not be as familiar is Apple Bottom jeans that refers to a fashion line introduced by rapper Nelly. 'Low' tied the all-time record for the shortest song title to hit #1. It matched Frankie Avalon's 'Why,' The Jackson 5's 'ABC,' Edwin Starr's 'War,' and 'Ben' and 'Bad' both by Michael Jackson.
The accompanying music video includes clips from the movie Step Up 2: The Streets. It also includes cameo appearances from hip hop celebrities Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, and Jermaine Dupri. The clip earned MTV Video Music Award nominations for Best Male Video and Best Hip Hop Video.
'Right Round' (2009)
The lead single from Flo Rida's second studio album R.O.O.T.S. is built around a vocal motif from Dead Or Alive's classic hit 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record).' It is also notable for an uncredited featured vocal from Kesha recorded before her solo career took off. Bruno Mars co-wrote the song more than a year before he became a star recording artist. Flo Rida said that using the hook from 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)' was an homage to the music he listened to while growing up.
'Right Round' became Flo Rida's second #1 pop smash in the US. It even broke into the top 40 on both the adult pop and Latin songs charts. It set and held the record for the most digital copies sold in the first week of release at 636,000 for six years until Adele sold more than a million copies in the first week of her single 'Hello.' 'Right Round' spent six weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has sold more than five million copies overall in the US.
'Right Round' was the lead single from the album R.O.O.T.S. Despite his phenomenal success on the pop singles chart, Flo Rida has never found a similar level of success on the album chart. R.O.O.T.S. climbed to #8 on the album chart but it failed to sell enough copies to earn a gold certification.

'Sugar' featuring Wynter (2009)
Flo Rida's 'Sugar' is built around a sample from Eiffel 65's massive worldwide pop hit 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)' from 1999. The song also introduced singer Wynter Gordon in a featured vocal performance. 'Sugar' reached #10 on the rap songs chart but climbed even higher on the pop chart reaching #5.
Wynter Gordon was originally hired as the 'reference' singer for 'Sugar.' Her vocals sounded so good to the production team that they decided to keep her on the record in an effort to help promote her as a rising artist. She released three consecutive top 5 charting dance hits in 2010 and 2011. Her debut album With the Music I Die was released in 2011.
The music video for 'Sugar' was shot in Florida. It features Flo Rida cavorting with a female doctor. 'Sugar' crossed over into the dance radio chart and peaked inside the top 20.
'Club Can't Handle Me' featuring David Guetta (2010)
Flo Rida recorded 'Club Can't Handle Me' for the soundtrack to the film Step Up 3D. He collaborated with hot dance pop producer David Guetta and the result was a huge international pop hit. He was approached by Flo Rida's label about the pair working together. David Guetta was a fan of the song 'Low' and agreed. The following year Flo Rida returned the favor by appearing as a featured artist on David Guetta's #14 charting hit 'Where Them Girls At?'
David Guetta made his first appearance in US top 10 just months before 'Club Can't Handle Me' with his single 'Sexy Chick.' The collaboration with Flo Rida helped further the growth of David Guetta's fan base in the US. j

'Club Can't Handle Me' was the first single released from the album project Only One Flo. It was originally intended as a companion to a later album to be titled Only One Rida, but that collection was later renamed Wild Ones due to the success of the song of the same name.
'Club Can't Handle Me' became Flo Rida's second #1 hit single in the UK and was certified double platinum for sales in the US after peaking at #9. It also continued Flo Rida's presence on the dance chart peaking at #23 on the dance club songs chart. 'Club Can't Handle Me' broke into the Latin songs chart peaking at #27.
'Good Feeling' (2011)
'Good Feeling' was the first single from what became Flo Rida's fourth studio album Wild Ones. It is built around a sample of vocals from Etta James' 1962 recording 'Something's Got a Hold On Me' which was also used in Avicii's dance hit 'Levels.' The Etta James sample was also used in the 2006 song 'Finally Moving' by Pretty Lights. 'Good Feeling' was produced by Dr. Luke and includes a dubstep breakdown.
The ultra-catchy Etta James hook helped 'Good Feeling' soar on pop charts around the world. It reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went all the way to #1 on the UK pop singles chart. 'Good Feeling' became Flo Rida's first top 10 Latin songs hit and reached #2 on dance radio while breaking into the top 20 at adult pop radio.
'Good Feeling' continued Flo Rida's development as a top pop artist in the UK. The song became his third #1 pop hit there following 'Right Round' and 'Club Can't Handle Me' to the top. 'Good Feeling' was the first of four consecutive top 10 smash hits there. 'Good Feeling' was a top 10 pop hit in 16 different countries around the world.
'Wild Ones' featuring Sia (2011)
Flo Rida collaborated with Australian singer-songwriter Sia for 'Wild Ones.' The slightly melancholic sounding dance pop single became another huge Flo Rida hit. 'Wild Ones' was a smash worldwide hit peaking in the top 10 on pop singles charts in at least 20 different countries from Israel to Ireland. Sia's success with David Guetta's worldwide pop smash 'Titanium' helped bring her to the attention of Flo Rida's team. Sia claims to have written the hook for 'Wild Ones' in 15 minutes. She referred to the song as '100% cheese,' and while she acknowledged its impact in the development of her career, she said that it was a song she wouldn't record herself. Among the team of producers for the record was Axwell, a member of the Swedish House Mafia.
'Wild Ones' reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and then crossed over into the top 40 on adult pop, dance, and Latin charts. It earned Flo Rida a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap / Sung Collaboration.
'I Cry' (2012)
Flo Rida scored his fourth top 10 pop hit from the Wild Ones album project with 'I Cry.' The song is built around Bingo Players' 'Cry (Just a Little)' which itself samples Brenda Russell's 1988 song 'Piano In the Dark.' 'I Cry' was a top 10 hit in many countries around the world reaching #3 on the UK pop singles chart and #6 in the US. Many observers criticized 'I Cry' as a weak effort from Flo Rida, but that didn't stop it from becoming a major hit. 'I Cry' reached the top 40 on both adult pop and Latin songs charts.
The accompanying music video shows Flo Rida returning to the neighborhood where he grew up in Carol City, Florida's 187th Street housing projects. The clip was directed by Marc Klasfeld who previously worked on the video for 'Club Can't Handle Me.'
Brenda Russell told Billboard that she was thrilled about Flo Rida reinterpreting her song 'Piano In the Dark' into a dance record. She said, 'As an artist and writer, it's the highest compliment we can be paid.'
'Whistle' (2012)
Download Song Low By Flo Rida Lyrics
Flo Rida's single 'Whistle' received a significant amount of commentary for containing sexually suggestive lyrics. It was released as the third single from the album Wild Ones. Despite the concerns, the song went all the way #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the mainstream pop radio chart. The whistling hook is one of the most addictive of Flo Rida's pop melodies. The primary producer of the record is DJ Frank E.
'Whistle' followed the use of whistling as a key hook in the 2010 OneRepublic hit 'Good Life' and 2011 Maroon 5 smash 'Moves Like Jagger.' Beyond the Billboard Hot 100, 'Whistle' also hit #1 on the adult pop radio, mainstream pop radio, and dance club songs charts. Flo Rida references Humphrey Bogart's classic line from the film To Have and Have Not in which he says, 'You know how to whistle, don't you? You just put your lips together and blow.' Flo Rida's version is, 'Can you blow my whistle baby... You just put your lips together and you come real close.'
'G.D.F.R.' featuring Sage the Gemini (2015)
After a series of singles that failed to connect with audiences, Flo Rida came roaring back with this more strongly hip hop focused track. 'G.D.F.R.' stands for 'Going Down For Real' which is the centerpiece of the song's big hook. It is a single from Flo Rida's My House EP and includes a guest appearance by rising hip hop star Sage the Gemini. The song uses samples from the Lookas remix of War's classic 'Low Rider.'
'G.D.F.R.' broke into the top 10 across the Billboard Hot 100, dance airplay, and mainstream pop radio charts. The EP My House peaked at a strong #14 on the album chart. It matched the peak three years earlier of the album Wild Ones.
'My House' (2015)
'My House' is the title cut from the EP of the same name. It was released as the third single from the project and became the EP's second top 10 pop hit. 'My House' includes samples from the song 'Impeach the President' by the Honey Drippers. After Flo Rida performed 'My House' on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and at halftime during an NFL playoff game, the song took off on the pop charts. Ultimately, it peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and broke into the top 20 at adult pop radio while hitting #1 at mainstream pop radio.
In an interview, Flo Rida told ABC Radio, 'Wherever I'm at, it's my house. I'm taking advantage of it, you know...I feel like everywhere I go, you know...I'm the life of the party.'

Lyrics
[Intro:]
Mmmmmmmm
Let me talk to 'em
Let me talk to 'em
Mmmmmmm
Let me talk to 'em
C'mon!
[Chorus:]
Shawty had them apple bottom jeans (jeans)
Boots with the fur (with the fur)
The whole club was looking at her
She hit the floor (she hit the floor)
Next thing you know
Shawty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low
Them baggy sweat pants
And the Reebok's with the straps (with the straps)
She turned around and gave that big booty a smack (hey)
She hit the floor (she hit the floor)
Next thing you know
Shawty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low.
[Ver1:]
I ain't never seen something that'll make me go
This crazy all night spending my doe
Had the million dollar vibe and a body to go
Them birthday cakes they stole the show
So sexual
She was flexible professional
Drinking X&O
Hold up, wait a minute, do I see what I think? Whoa
Did her thing seen shawty get low
Ain't the same when it's up that close
Make it rain I'm making it snow
Work the pole I gotta bank roll
I'm gonna say that I prefer the no clothes
I'm in to that I love women exposed
She threw it back at me I gave her mo
Cash ain't a problem I know where it go.
[Ver2:]
Hey shawty what I gotta do to get you home
My jeans filled with guap and they're ready for showing
Cadillacs laid back for the sexy grown
Patron on the rocks that'll make you moan
One stack (come on), two stacks (come on), three stacks (come on)
Now that's three grand
What you think I'm playing baby girl I'm the man
I'm dealing rubber bands
That's when I threw her legs on my shoulders
I knew it was over
That heny and Cola got me like a soldier
She ready for Rover, I couldn't control her
So lucky on me I was just like clover
Shawty was hot like a toaster
Sorry but I had to fold her
Like a pornography poster
She showed her.
[Ver3:]
Whoa shawty yeah she was worth the money
Little mama took my cash
And I ain't want it back
The way she bent that back
Got all them paper stacks
Tattoo above her crack
I had to handle that
I was zoned in sexy woman
Let me show it make me want it
Two in the morning I'm zoned in
Them rosee bottles foaming
She wouldn't stop
Made it drop
Shawty dipped that pop and lock
Had to break her off that guap
Gal was fine just like my glock.
